Sean is an actor, producer and writer, editor and director and is known for his work on Mr. A (2008), Is There Anything Else? (2009), The Queen (2010), and Going the Distance (2010).Sean grew up in Hong Kong and Eugene, Oregon and experienced puberty in Portland, Oregon in the 1990s. In high school, he discovered the art of improvisation and performed in several student plays, fund-raising a great deal of financial support for his high school. He graduated from New York University Gallatin School of Individualized study, whose alumni include Anne Hathaway and Rooney Mara.Sean studied how to produce documentary journalism at the City University of New York, Hunter College and followed the films of Abbas Kiarostami (Dah (2002)). He wrote, performed, edited and produced several shorts and then the short film, A Better Tomorrow (2010) as part of the Alex Rivera (Sleep Dealer (2008)) Masterclass with Gustavo Mercado. Unfortunately, Sean left Hunter College in 2009, before completing his thesis, due to financial aid and administrative issues. At the same time, he also developed narrative stage work with the Pan-Asian repertory writer's workshop. He was introduced to Jadin Wong Management by Ernest Abuba and Tisa Chang and cast in the short-lived Mick Jagger sitcom The Knights of Prosperity (2007) and several print and national commercials. Prior to this, he had played a lead in the Columbia University short film Mr. A (2008), which garnered the first ever 4-way tie for best short at the Student Academy Awards in New York and went onto receive Best Writing in national Student Oscars.Following his departure from graduate school and shift in focus back toward the dramatic arts, Sean opted to begin a 6 week Meisner intensive at the Ward Studio in New York. He then auditioned for several short student films, most notably The Queen (2010), directed by the Christina Choe, where he played a socially-awkward Asian-American teenage outcast.
