While Ron J. Rock may be a newcomer in the entertainment industry, he is passionate, unstoppable and well on his way to making a name for himself. In early 2018, Rock will be seen in alongside Gerard Butler and 50 Cent in the gritty crime saga, "Den of Thieves." The film follows an elite unit from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department as it squares off against a crew of successful thieves who plan a seemingly impossible heist - the city's Federal Reserve Bank. Ron plays 'Junior' the young banker who unexpectedly finds himself in the middle of the heist among the thieves (50 Cent, Pablo Schreiber) and unit leader (Butler)."Den of Thieves" is the first of many projects you will hear Rock's name attached to in 2018. His production company, Rocktober Productions is currently working on and developing several projects including music videos and a television series which is based on Rock's life. Rock is also an executive producer on the upcoming Broadway musical, "Lucifer," which is slated premiere in New York City in 2019.Rock was born in Brooklyn New York, but eventually his growing family moved to Englewood New Jersey where he and his siblings were raised. Being one of seven children, Ron often sought attention from his family in the form of entertainment, and is spot-on impersonations of his eight crazy uncles made his mother laugh until she was in tears. But it was in third grade where Ron got his first taste of acting that changed everything. Wearing white face paint, Ron starred in the Cleveland Elementary School Rosa Parks production as James F. Blake, the white bus driver who ordered Rosa Parks out of her seat. His act made the local newspaper which inspired Rock to learn more about the craft and dream of one day becoming an entertainer. After that performance he dove in to acting classes after school, which lead to private acting classes and theater workshops at the Englewood Library.Eventually, Ron found himself in the Peppermint Players theater program, which allowed him to act in many well-known off-Broadway plays such as "Peter Pan" and "Alice in Wonderland." He attended St. Joseph Regional High School and participated in their Broadway acting program which only solidified his passion for entertaining. Upon high school graduation, Ron began acting in short films and was accepted in to the New York Film Academy where he immersed himself in his studies. He developed skills such as scene study, combat techniques, and improvisation, and ultimately earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts. Upon graduating from the New York Film Academy, Rock booked his first professional project which was a short film called "Noah Dreams of Origami Fortunes" in which Rock starred alongside Caleb McLaughlan (Stranger Things).Acting is just one item on Ron's impressive list of talents. He is also an avid and dedicated business man - On top of building his own production company, Rock keeps himself busy working on several projects around the world in the restaurant and travel industries, and promotes for some of the most popular venues in the country. When he does have free time, he enjoys interior designing, spending time outdoors and horseback riding.
