Matthew Bohrer can be seen recurring opposite Billy Bob Thornton in the Amazon original drama series "Goliath." Executive Produced by David E. Kelley (Ally McBeal, Boston Legal) the show follows down and out lawyer Billy McBride (Thornton) as he seeks redemption.Born and raised in San Diego, California, Matthew first began acting on stage. At the age of five, he lip-synched to Groucho Marx's "Lydia the Tattooed Lady" in his elementary school's talent show, and he was hooked. He immersed himself in San Diego's vibrant theater community, performing in multiple plays with the Playwrights Project at the Tony-winning Old Globe Theatre, serving as President of the La Jolla Playhouse Student Board, and winning several awards from San Diego Playbill. During high school summer breaks, he furthered his craft by studying at the Yale School of Drama and NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.Matthew attended Harvard University for his BA, from which he graduated with a degree in English and Drama. While at Harvard, Matthew studied at the American Repertory Theatre and performed with the Hasty Pudding Theatricals, where he helped roast celebrities like Anne Hathaway and Justin Timberlake. He also sang with the Krokodiloes, Harvard's oldest a cappella group, at Carnegie Hall and on a world tour.In 2013, Matthew landed his first major professional role, appearing as Eddie in Center Theatre Group's production of "The Sunshine Boys" at the Ahmanson Theater, opposite Danny DeVito and Judd Hirsch. Matthew immediately booked a handful of TV projects, including roles on "Grey's Anatomy," "Scandal," and "House of Lies," while recurring on "General Hospital." He returned to Center Theatre Group in 2014, performing in the world premiere of the Pulitzer Prize finalist "Marjorie Prime," at the Mark Taper Forum. 2015 was a banner year, as he appeared in Universal's hit horror film "Unfriended," guest starred on "I Didn't Do It" for Disney, and filmed the lead role of physicist Richard Feynman in "D'Arline," a recipient of a Sloan Foundation award. This year, after wrapping "Goliath," he filmed a role in the award-winning Showtime drama, "Masters of Sex," playing a patient of Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan). When he isn't on set, Matthew can be found learning Krav Maga and singing with The Yardbirds, an a cappella group made up of Harvard alumni. He loves singing standards made famous by artists like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, and Chet Baker. He is an avid fan of the San Diego Padres and Chargers, though it gives him much grief. He lives in the Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles. Show less «
